Gastroenterology Department

This project was to increase space in the gastroenterology department and to achieve this we had to lift four modular buildings in to very tight court yards. The challenge was that the structural engineer wanted the pressure points that the cabins bear down to be piled. Our task was to find a company with a small enough rig to get in to the court yard which was big enough to get the correct bearing pressures. We achieved this and managed to pile the three areas in time for the modular units to come to site. We also managed the double crane lift that was used as the area was so difficult to access that the cabin had to be lifted to one location and then dropped and lifted again in to the court yard. Once the buildings were in place, we were working in a live department behind hoardfast walls to connect the existing building to the new build and then fit them all out. The job ran smooth as we had early engagement with the client and everyone knew day to day what was happening. The project completed on time and the staff could not be more pleased.
