Endoscopy Unit (modular)
Our clients wanted us to work with them and their design team to construct an 11-bed recovery bay for Endoscopy patients. The projects biggest challenge was that it was in the middle of the hospital with no access by crane. The construction method was modular but had to be assembled on site. All materials, plant and equipment had to be managed and moved down a live corridor to enable the works to be carried out. This was done safely with the correct methods and procedures in place and the building was completed on time and on budget.
The Endoscopy unit was kept live at all times and the modular build was programmed that all works would be completed to the new build and we would only affect the unit for three weeks. This was when we broke through and redeveloped the existing area for access to the new unit and also constructed two recovery bays and toilets to complete the works.
